Ira Waldron was born in Saint Peterbourg. She lived in London from 1982 and today resides between Paris and Moscow. Her new series "Maniphisto" is a combination of "manifesto" as in Marx's Communist Manifesto and "Mephisto" as in Mephistopheles' devil who tempts Goethe's Faust. The series will consist of 12 silkscreens and 20 original drawings based on a kind of communist hell and a world of modified Stalinist propaganda.
